Description.
Darien is a human male,standing at six foot three inches,and weighing one hundred sixty one pounds.He wears black brais,and a black and red sleeved vest that leaves his muscular torso revealed.Twin tattoes of black dragons curl up his arms,a full tatoo of a black dragon rampant covers his back.The dragons on his arms seem to move with his flexing muscles,though they are oft covered by clothing when not at sea.Darien's face is clean shaven,and he let's his platinum colored hair grow as it might.
Character History
Darien Fartheran is the son of Captain Fengar Fartheran,and Myriel Fartheran,a Mage of some regard in Kressilacc.He grew to love the sea,and learned the skills of a sailor from his father.When Darien entered his teen years,his father allowed him to serve aboard his ship as a cabinboy.Time not spent on patrols with his father's vessel,was spent learning the ways of the Art from his mother.Darien undertook an apprenticeship with his uncle Rongren,a stonemason,but gave up on that profession as magic and the sea drew him to a more comfortable calling.The fartheran household was a contrast in spirituality.Fengar is an avid follower of Poseidon,whereas Myriel worships the god Thoth,and serves as a tutor at his temple in Kressilacc.Darien respects both of his parents deities,but keeps his greatest spiritual bond with Tempus,Lord of Battle.His fealty in the spiritual regard is known,yet tolerated,as Darien is not about browbeating others to follow his ways.His father soon learned that Darien made an effective quartermaster,as his knowledge of bureaucratitic procedures greatly sped up the process of procuring needed supplies.Being a Mage,his effectiveness in battle is rather limited compared to most others,but he has courage,and a quick mind for the flow of battle.Darien dreams of one day commanding his own ship,and sailing the open seas in search of adventure.
Darien met Cynica,a priestess of Tempus,a few months ago in an inn.He was enamoured with this warrior-priestess of his chosen deity,and offerred his services in her 'adventures'.Darien joined Cynica,and three others,to scour a vacant temple rumoured to have been a temple to Bane,the Lord of Strife.In the depths of this foul place,they came across an undead being which magically transported them away with a wave of it's hand.Darien found himself alone in the dark,with nothing but silence to keep him company.
